The track hosted ski races during the 1956 Winter Olympics as well and is the hosts the Women’s World Cup races every year. Furthermore, in 1990 the local champion Kristian Ghedina won the Downhill race on this track. Also, on this slope Sofia Goggia has triumphed 3 times in the World Cup and Lindsey Vonn has been the absolute queen of this slope 6 times. 2,560 meters long with passages known to be treacherous including the Schuss, with a maximum gradient of 65%, where the athletes jump and reach a maximum speed of 140 km/h, right in the middle of two large boulders. You will be able to experience the thrill of skiing on the slopes of the 2021 World Ski Championships and explore the magical area of Ra Valles, skiing the famous black slope “Forcella Rossa”, the steepest and one of the most difficult slopes in Cortina d’Ampezzo, as well as being among the most spectacular in the Tofana ski area. Another must is the black slope Col Drusciè A, that became famous during the 1956 Winter Olympics. The slope offers beautiful views on Cortina with a maximum gradient of 66% and 907 m length.Last but not least, the challenging slope Vertigine is brand new and has been created to host the Downhill and Super-G during the 2021 Championships. This track is wide and steep and is characterized by a breathtaking view on Cortina. It has a totale length of 2.740 meters and a maximum gradient of 61%. The most difficult parts are the Vertigine” jump, the “Schuss”, the “Ghedina” jump and the “Marmotte” jump.

The descent winding through the woods begins just below the intersection with the black and red Piz La Ila slopes and extends through the woods close to La Villa. Since the slope is mostly north facing and for the most it stretches in the woods, it remains in the shade for the whole day, making it particularly hard and sometimes even icy. The track has a length of 1,255 m and a maximum gradient of 69%. On the Gran Risa the great ski stars have gathered over the years:  Alberto Tomba celebrated some of his great successes here and in addition to him Ingemar Stenmark, Ted Ligety, Mark Girardelli, Michael von Grünigen, Bode Miller and Marcel Hirscher have won.
